The E Ride Pro SR is normally an electric cross bike that gets adrenaline junkies’ hearts racing with its impressive performance and L3e approval (equivalent to the 125cc class). But the new L1e version brings a whole new dimension to the game: it is limited to 45 km/h and is therefore officially approved as a moped. This means that it can be legally ridden on German roads from the age of 15 with an AM driver’s license or from the age of 18 with a car driver’s license (class B). A real game changer for young riders or those looking for a maneuverable, environmentally friendly vehicle for everyday use!
Technical details: Throttled, but with potential
In order to obtain L1e approval, the E Ride Pro SR naturally had to undergo a few modifications. When throttled, its continuous rated power is a maximum of 4 kW – the legal limit for this vehicle class in Germany. Its top speed of 45 km/h makes it perfect for city traffic or relaxed rides in the countryside. But here’s the kicker: if you want to experience the full potential of this bike, you can easily de-restrict it for off-road use. And it’s child’s play – all you have to do is pull out a plug. After that, the well-behaved L1e version transforms back into a powerhouse with the full 25 kW peak power, as known from the 125cc version.
Unthrottling made easy: unplug, open the app
Unthrottling the E Ride Pro SR L1e is so simple that it’s almost fun. Just pull out a plug and the speed limit is lifted. You can then use the accompanying app to adjust the power to suit your preferences or the terrain. Whether you want a gentle increase or full power, the app gives you control. Of course, de-throttling is only intended for off-road use, as the de-throttled version would no longer be legal on public roads. But that’s exactly what makes the L1e version so exciting: it’s an all-rounder that shines both in everyday use and off-road.
One bike, two worlds
The E Ride Pro SR L1e is a real surprise and a welcome addition to the German market. Limited to 45 km/h and 4 kW continuous rated power, it is a practical vehicle for everyday use, while the option to remove the speed limiter makes it a wild off-road companion. Simply pull out a plug, open the app, and get going—electric mobility can be that easy. We are excited to see how this model performs in this country and whether there will be more unexpected developments from E Ride. One thing is certain: this bike will cause a stir – on the road and off-road!
