How to perfectly adjust the suspension of your Ultra Bee for every situation<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Sur-Ron Ultra Bee is known for its impressive performance and versatility, both off-road and on the road. To get the most out of your bike, it is crucial to adjust the suspension optimally. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Middle setting fork<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The rebound damping can be adjusted at the upper end of the fork. The adjustment screw is labeled REB (short for rebound). This determines how the fork rebounds. Thanks to the hand-turn adjustment screws used here, you don’t even need tools for the Ultra Bee. The situation is different for the adjustment screws for the fork’s compression damping. Here you need a flat-head screwdriver. The compression damping is labeled COMP (short for compression). <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The first step is to set both the rebound damping and the compression damping to a medium setting. To do this, simply turn the adjustment screws in one direction until they stop. Then turn them in the other direction until they stop, counting the clicks as you do so. Now simply turn the adjustment screw back to half the total number of clicks. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The same applies to the shock absorber. At the upper end, adjust the compression valve, which is located on the pressure tank, for compression damping, and at the lower end, adjust the adjustment screw for rebound damping to a medium setting. <\/p>\n

These two adjustment screws are also labeled COMP and REB. The procedure is the same as before. Turn in one direction until it stops, then turn in the other direction until it stops, counting the clicks as you go. <\/p>\n

Now you can check the preload of the shock absorber. You can adjust this by turning the two large ring nuts directly on the shock absorber. The shock absorber should be adjusted so that the motorcycle already compresses slightly under its own weight, but also compresses by about 10 cm under the weight of the rider in full gear. <\/p>\n

However, the Ultra Bee is so light that it doesn’t really flex on its own.<\/p>\n

The fork overhang describes how far the fork protrudes from the upper triple clamp. Most forks have markings that indicate the maximum overhang. The fork overhang allows the wheelbase to be easily changed, but this has an immediate noticeable effect on handling in corners or on straight stretches. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

For winding roads, a short wheelbase, i.e., a larger fork overhang, is recommended. On straight roads, a long wheelbase, i.e., a smaller fork overhang, is better for acceleration. <\/p>\n

The fine adjustment of the suspension depends primarily on the track. On hard ground, it is advisable to set the suspension to a softer setting. Both the rebound damping and compression damping of the fork and shock absorber can be opened initially. The suspension must be able to compress quickly in order to absorb hard impacts. But it must also be able to rebound quickly so that it is immediately ready for the next impact. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On soft ground, you should set the suspension to a harder setting. If the suspension compresses too easily here, it will cause instability while riding. The rebound should also be slightly heavier so that you are not suddenly thrown out of the saddle. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

However, the suspension can also influence handling in corners and on straight stretches. A hard fork combined with a soft shock absorber ensures that the bike accelerates better on straight stretches. A soft fork and a hard shock absorber ensure better cornering handling by shifting weight to the front wheel. <\/p>\n

Tip: Always make a note of the settings you have chosen. This will enable you to determine the best settings for each route over time and adapt to each route more quickly. <\/p>\n
